Hi, I'm Souvik.

Chai-fueled designer navigating design, culture, and curiosity

I kicked off my design journey at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and later deepened my practice at the National Institute of Design (NID). Originally from Calcutta, my curiosity and love for good chai have taken me across India. I am on a mission to visit all 36 states and union territories. So far I have covered 25 and have 11 to go, although I am currently on a short pause as I build this next chapter.

Over the past 14 years, my work has evolved from crafting tangible products to designing thoughtful digital experiences. Before my master’s, I explored a range of paths including working with craft clusters under UNESCO, spending time at export houses, and designing accessories showcased at Fashion Weeks. These experiences shaped my sensitivity toward materials, culture, and human behavior.

I eventually joined Unilever, where I immersed myself in user research and product conceptualization. This helped me build a strong foundation in understanding real user needs and translating them into meaningful solutions, marking the beginning of my transition into digital product design.

I have always enjoyed balancing work with travel and continue to get better at designing a life around both. I prefer traveling like a local rather than a tourist, without checklists, seeking out conversations, food, and cultural nuances that reveal how people live and think.

Recently, I moved to Berlin for a fresh start and my love of new cultures. Ich spreche ein bisschen Deutsch, and I’m excited to continue learning my fourth language. When I’m not at my desk, you’ll find me in my workshop tinkering with or restoring vintage furniture or on langen Autofahrten.

I’ve always loved balancing travel and work, and I’m working on getting even better at it. I like to travel like a local, not a tourist, with no lists to complete. Senior Product Designer / Sept 2024 - Dec 2025

As part of Accenture’s Digital Product team, I contributed to securing new projects, driving successful pilot initiatives, and advancing AI-powered solutions. I designed prototypes showcasing Vertex AI capabilities for a leading global cloud provider, revamped AI-driven marketing dashboards for the company behind the world’s top search engine, and optimized customer experience for the UAE’s largest telecom provider.

Product Designer / Oct 2020 - Sept 2024

I started as part of a small team of 20 designers, where I became known for exploring innovative projects beyond traditional screen design and specializing in healthcare products. I conducted research and user interviews across 17+ countries for Dell, performed accessibility testing with visually impaired users to ensure ADA compliance, designed immersive VR training modules for Lenovo, and organized Wipro Design Talks to foster UX knowledge sharing across teams.
